Corporate R & D
Various companies have their R&D centres located on the campus. They conduct research involving the students of the Institute.
Oracle School of Advanced Software Technology
Oracle School offers training for corporates on all Oracle products such as its database, tools and applications. The School also offers customised courses as required by them or has the option of module wise courses in regular batches.
Satyam School of Applied Information Systems
The Satyam School of Applied Information Systems (SSAIS) is positioned as Indias premier school in the area of delivering and managing information systems. The mission of SSAIS is to build a powerful learning environment to enhance the understanding of not just the technology in a networked era, but also its relation and impact on organizations, society and the world.
Motorola School of Communication Technology
The Motorola School, set up with the motive to utilize the excellent environment provided by the Institute’s campus, trains customers and the staff. Two DSP labs are provided where the students can work on the latest commercial DSP chips and learn the wide spheres of their use.
Keane School of Excellence
At this competency centre, Keane is working in partnership with global leaders like Sun Microsystems and Rational. It also houses the CISCO Academy Training Centre. The courses are supported by the project development teams of Keane Solutions Ltd, adding project exposure to the students. IIIT has setup the following advanced labs on the campus in collaboration with various organizations:
  • Dynamic Software Lab (with Kido Software Pvt. Ltd.)
  • VLSI Lab (with Portal Player India)
  • Middleware Lab (with Pramathi)
IIIT has R&D relationships with: HP Labs, Google, BNSF Nokia, Picopeta, TCS, ADRIN, etc. ,

Others
The Institute also hosts various centres of national importance.
Institute for Electronic Governance:
IEG is an AP State Govt. Society that provides technical solution for many e-governance projects and also conducts one-year training programme for engineering students. IEG in collaboration with APSCHE and Govt. of AP has launched Jawahar Knowledge Centers (JKC), located in several leading Engineering Colleges, through which students work on real life projects for e-governance. Thus, IEG provides training as well as takes up projects of societal relevance. IIIT with IEG has launched MTech (Professional) programme.
National Institute of Smart Governance:
NISG has been setup by the Government of India and the State govts. as an apex institute to plan and assist the e-government initiatives in the country such as planning, selecting technology and passing on the best practices.
Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning:
CIHL does digital content development for e-learning and conducts research in sophisticated e-learning methodologies. It also provides support to MSIT programs running at several learning centres in AP including IIIT. It has a tie-up with Carnegie Mellon University.
Digital Library Centre:
The aim of the Digital Library Project, a collaborative endeavour between many Institutions in India, US and China is to digitize around a million books in the next three years. This joint initiative is planned to capitalize on the availability of talents, machinery and Information resources with all the participating organizations.
